How much would it cost to buy a live whitetail deer? What would it cost to maintain a deer?

I would like to know how much it would cost to buy a whitetail der to keep as an exotic pet. I also want to know how much it would cost to support the deer (cost of food, water, shelter...)How much would it cost to buy a live whitetail deer? What would it cost to maintain a deer?
Well you would probably have to go through your local wildlife conservation agency. And I really don't think you can buy deer unless you are an agent of a state with a shortage of whitetail deer. I'm not even sure deer are for sale. and, honestly, deer don't do well being kept in a fence. They have territories that they patrol and defend. They like to live with other deer in their herd, not alone. Deer alone have no idea how to act. I really don't think a human can provide the sort of varied diet that deer require. Acorns, vines, berries, some leaves, and occasionally corn or grains are the norm. Deer need water every day. What if it's still nursing when you get it? Can you get deer milk on a regular basis? What if you get a male and when he comes in velvet and get aggressive and possibly injures you or himself.....what will you do then? send him back as defective? Even does can defend themselves pretty well with powerful kicks. Deer can be really aggressive even though you are nearly three times their height....they can weigh up to 200 pounds. That's a lot of cervid anger coming after you cuz it can't get out to compete with other males. Look up deer attacks. Everything from cuts and concussions to broken ribs, gashes, and punctured lungs. Sound fun?

Prices will depend on the market in your area, going back to your question. Deer need shelter from the weather and natural trees and plant in any enclosure. Also a constant source of water....a pond would do. Oh, yeah. In case it got sick you would have to employ the services of an exotics vet......which will automatically up what you're paying without even seeing the animal. In the winter you could feed it hay and corn.....like I said these will depend on the local market where you are. It would have to be a fairly large enclosure...a mile or so so the deer could act like a wild deer.
