Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep deer out of my garden?

Besides deer repellant that you buy at the store, is there anything else you can do? Please help they are eating all my beautiful flowers.Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep deer out of my garden?
clean out your hairbrushes and put the hairballs inside an old panty hose or piece of net. Deer have extremely accute senses of smell. This should keep them and other wild critters at bay.Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep deer out of my garden?
many sites with your answer

you have to erect a ten foot fence around your garden or you could put an electric fence around it
I don't know how sensitive you are to it, but some states have damage permits. You could get someone to dispense with the deer. Generally though the hair thing works. Also if you get that spray that is made of red pepper, it works on most deer. Search the net for deer repellent. They are skittish, I would think noise makers and things that move like lots of ribbons (I've seen this done) that flow in the wind, would deter them.
High fence and netting over the top.
I've heard that human hair put in a mesh bag and tied to low tree branches or bushes has helped. Also go to your county extension dept. on the computer or in person, they have a list of plants and flowers that deer do not like and these can be planted around to help defray them a little.
The motion detectors available are a little limited but there are a few good ones.

one is a sprinkler that squirts the deer when they are detected. it is about $20 at the plant supply store and I have seen them sold online. It is shaped like a crow.

radioShack has many motion detectors as well. One is a recording of a dog barking and there are ultrasonic ones (those may irritate your plants as well i think). One sets off a silent alarm so you can know when the deer are there and others turn on radios or lights.

and if you had the interest, you could probably make your own from parts at radioShack. maybe a dart gun.

there is a Lot of $$ to be made with a good rose bush protector.

hear that you diy boyz?

i've heard decent things about the power of soap placed around the garden but deer will eventually become accustomed to anything.

perhaps you could make the plants untasty for a while and that would discourage them. Like by using hot pepper spray on the leaves.

or blood around the base of the plants%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;this will usually work but it attracts other animals (like dogs and other diggers)

and if you wanted to untasty-fie the flowers themselves, then vinegar might help a little. I know that it can be sprayed on flowers without damaging them once every three days.

2 teaspoons per quart of water (9.86cc's per liter)

and then you have firecrackers

and dry ice bombs

and dogs

and bb guns

or you could feed the deer (maybe around back away from the flowers) and then they will bring you fawns to see.

or you can eat venison, instead of the other way around and plus if you shoot a deer , then word might get around.
check out Jerry Baker's webpage. He's a gardener that has been around for a long time. I was on his site today for some other items.
