Do deer dislike the smell of Irish Spring Soap?

And if so, how do you apply it to flowering bushes to repel the deer. Thanks!Do deer dislike the smell of Irish Spring Soap?
try lion dung

would you go out there if YOU thought there was a lion out there

good luckDo deer dislike the smell of Irish Spring Soap?
Nope! I live in a heavily populated deer area of Massachusetts and Irish Spring does not deter a hungry deer.

There are a few commercially available deer repellents and all need to be re applied after every rain.

But if you do that, they do work.

There is also deer netting that you lay on top of the plants and shrubs and deer fencing to keep them off your land I do recommend 8feet or higher.

For me, I do two things, I spray the yard constantly with Deer Off, and I bought deer food at Agway, I put the food at the edge of the woods.

Every one is happy at my house!

I get to look at the deer and they get food not my plants.
That is a myth. Deer wont mind the soap at all but crushed red pepper bought at any store will stop them. It will get in their nostrills and eyes and they will associate the burning with the bushes also if you could find it coyote urin would be best as the deer will sense a predator in the area.
If a deer is hungry enough, it won't mind smelling like Irish Spring. The only thing that would keep deers off your property is a 10' fence, preferably electrified. A hungry deer will do anything to eat your greens.
it depends on the deer.... what they don't like is not being able to smell a predator on the wind or not being able to scent a goodie to eat..... they hate sudden movements and sounds, too.... but they get used to everything we try.... best thing yet is that motion sensor sprayer....

moving it around keeps it from becoming something they're used to!....several of them really foul 'em up!
yes most woodland creatures do mice rabbits deer etc.

just get a small mesh bag and put the bar of soap inside and hang it on the bush or another plant of the same height nearby. the smell is strong so dont wet it or anythign

good luck =]
try putting a basic household ammonia under the plants, this will ward them off
