How do you transport deer meat about 1200 miles?

I am bow hunting in Indiana this year and i need to know how to get the meat back to Vermont. Coolers? Ice? Do you prop the meat up somehow so that the water from the ice does not get it wet?How do you transport deer meat about 1200 miles?
The best way is dry ice, but you can't keep that in an enclosed vehicle (it displaces oxygen as it melts) in a truck bed etc it works great, just don't let it touch the meat directly.

Skin and Quarter the deer. Pack in plastic garbage bags, put in coolers and add the dry ice. If dry ice is not available where you are hunting, then use crushed ice. Pack the ice around the garbage bags. When you stop for gas, check add replace as needed.

When we bear hunt in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, we have to do the same thing when transporting them back to the Southern part of the State. Quick, simple and easy.
Totally advise dry ice. if you cant get your hands on some, put your ice and meat in seperate zip lock freezer bags, and layer them. If you use dry Ice, make sure it doesnt come into direct contact with the meat, lay a few paper grocery bags on top of the meat before you put the dry ice on top. Keep the car windows a bit cracked for good airflow, (dry ice is solid carbon dioxide and evaporates into gas).If your on a plane, dry ice is allowed in carryon, just check on the weight limit.
I like boning the meat out, putting it into sealable plastic freezer bags and sticking the bags in coolers with block ice. It'll stay cold for days. Then when you get home it's ready for the freezer.
I load a deep freeze, and styrofoam up in my truck I use just for this purpose. When I harvest game, I process and place the meat in the freezer, and fill it the rest the way up with styrofoam, then drive home.
Wrap it in butcher paper and use dry ice only!! Cheap and most effective way to transport perishable goods. Pack the meat in the bottom of the cooler then put the dry ice on top.
Pack it in dry ice and an insulated container overnight next day air ship similar to omaha steaks does.
As mentioned dry ice works great and boning your meat and using big plastic bags and blocks of ice. Lots of blue ice packs work too......
Rock salt and ice of course. Wrap your meat add your ice, and pour your salt on the ice. It freezes it.
put a lot of salt on the meat, buy a good cooler, and fill it with dry ice
Dry ice can be found at many WAL-MARTs in the front of the store.
