I started deer meat chili in a crock pot without cooking the meat first. Is this ok?

I completely forgot to cook the meat and added it in with the rest of the ingredients. I hope I don't have to throw it all away.I started deer meat chili in a crock pot without cooking the meat first. Is this ok?
Well in a crock Pot the idea is to cook slowly over a long period of time so if you cook the food long enough, usually a crock pot recipe is for 8 to 12 hours, about the shortest I have heard of is 6 hours on high, you will be fine, as a matter of fact the only reason you might have ';cooked'; the meat at all prior to tossing it in the pot would be for browning it or searing a large piece of meat to hold juice in the meat while the veggies cooked. The searing would not apply to chili so you are good to go. As amatter of fact, you will get more flavor out of the meat this way than if pre cooked,

Now what time did you say we were all supposed to be there for chili supper????? ; ) .I started deer meat chili in a crock pot without cooking the meat first. Is this ok?
there is no need to pre-cook meat before you use a slow cooker or crockpot
Don't throw it away! If you like you can just pick out the meat and fry it a bit. I do agree with everyone here tho.
Sure, you should have no problem there. The meat will assimilate the juices and slow cook until it is ready to consume.
It's just like any other meat you put in a crock pot, if you're nervous put it on high rather than low, but this is what they're for....slow cookin
What cut did you use? You should be fine if you just make sure the meat is thoroughly cooked when pull out the meat.
In a crockpot this will be just fine. If you were going to stove top cook then a little dredging in seasoned flour and searing of the meat would have been appropriate for the gravy.
I like to brown the meat first, but you are going to cook it in the pot.

It doesn't matter if you cooked it first if it gets done in the crock pot it is not going to make you sick.
That's what a crock pot is for! Cook it 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low and it should be juicy, tender, and cooked!
No,you won't have to throw it all away. That is why a using a crockpot is so easy because you can cook your meats in there, without having to fry them first! I bet that chili is going to be so good, yummy! ;-)
