venison ghoulash

2 lbs venison, cut into 1 inch cubes

2 tablespoons oil

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 red bell pepper, chopped

3 teaspoons paprika

1 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon coriander

1 cup red wine

1 cup water

1 cup half-and-half

1 tablespoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon lemon juice

In a heavy skillet or Dutch oven, brown venison in oil. Lower heat and add onions, garlic, tomato paste and red bell pepper. Continue cooking for 1 minute.

Stir in paprika, pepper, cumin, coriander, wine, and water. Cover and simmer on top of stove or in a moderately low overn (325 for 1 1/2 hours). Add more water if necessary to prevent sticking. Add cream, oregano and lemon juice; cook for 5 minutes.
1 lb of beer burger %26amp; 1 lb of ground deer, onions, bell peppers, can of tomatoe sauce + can of water, 1 large can of crushed or small diced tomatoes and a can of chili beans or pinto beans.. 1/4 cup of chili powder, 2 Tbsp cumin, 2 tbsp paprika, 1 tbsp salt, %26amp; 1 tsp sugar. Or get the Williams Chili mix, instead of all those spices, it's the best!

If you make deer chili, make a double or triple batch, the first day of course a bowl of chili and pimento cheese sandwiches or cornbread, the second day have chili dogs topped with slaw, onions, pickles mustard cheese etc. and chili fries or chili tater tots!!!!, The third day boil spaghetti noodles and have chili spaghetti topped with a mound of grated cheddar!!!!

We are from south Arkansas and do a lot of deer hunting so I am experienced at makeing my deer go a long way! I like to mix beef and deer cause deer is just to lean and not as flavorful by itself. I do meatloaf the same way, equal parts deer and beef. Ground deer/beef is good with taco bell taco seasoning and taco bell shells, fajitas with equal parts beef, even in regular stew with cuhnks of beef as well as deer.,
Yes and tomato juice and corn would be good too.
I add 1/3 pork (for the fat) onions, mushrooms, celery, carrots,%26amp; some type of hot pepper. Jalapeno, Serrano Etc.
i know what we put in our stew and it is really good

beef - cut up into cubes

carrots - cut into pieces

potatoes - cut into pieces
I think stew.
I like to throw in some red wine...adds a beautiful flavour

and a mixture of other sauces and herbs
