How about metal hangers. Bend then to the right shapes, like a skeleton. And maybe you could cover all that w/ old sheets or something, like skin and paint it. I think that could workHow do you make a model of a sika deer out of household materials?
Start with a wire frame - shape of deer - cover in regular household window screening - comes in rolls. You can tape the screening with regular masking tape - it is going to be covered anyway. Then paper mache, use old newspaper and the white glue and water method - paint when dry with acrylics. Don't forget not to put so many layers of mache that it won't dry for days. Spray with a matte or gloss sealer.
